Click the play arrow at the center of the frame to view the video. We put a bag of stale peanuts in the bird feeder for the squirrels. To our surprise, the bear came up the lower deck and grabbed the bird feeder. He kept on flipping the bird feeder to let the peanuts drop out. Not a single peanut shell was left after he departed. The guests watched the scene for about 40 minutes (check out "Guest Book" to read what they said (dated June 19 & 20). Bear sightings are rare, but we've seen bear poop in the light forest where moose nuggets are more prevalent - which means the black bear is there more often than when we see them. Moose Den B&B being close to Turnagain Arm where the bears get their fish, the bears come inland when there's not enough fish in the arm. Anchorage Waste instructs residents to put out their trash at 8AM, rather than the night before. |
